About the Artist
Intrusive Thoughts Theatre is an independent theatre company created by Andrea Thring based in British Columbia, with a focus on creating original work that lives at the intersection of psychology and performance.
Committed to expanding on the most abstract thoughts and ideas, Intrusive Thoughts Theatre invites audiences into the strange, vulnerable, and deeply human territory of the mind – where uncomfortable thoughts, humour, contradiction, and honesty all have a place on stage.
Never one for traditional theatre, Andrea founded Intrusive Thoughts Theatre to focus on original and modern creation, inspired by personal stories, events, and the eccentric wanderings of the human mind. She finds the space between personal story, contemporary theatre and psychology to be the most exciting and dynamic gathering place to explore and play.
Andrea is a playwright, actor and psychotherapist living in British Columbia Canada.
She hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology with a specialization in drama therapy from California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California and a BFA in Theatre and Development and Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal, QC.
