Vibrant Histories Showcase: A Night of BIPOC Burlesque & Drag

Add some colour to your life by joining House of Cheek in celebrating Victoria's BIPOC burlesque and drag history! This vibrant showcase is an extension of a 3 day history exhibit and fundraiser for the Shade Burlesque Festival, returning in 2027. Witness local performers from the global majority up close and personal as they share their art. One stage, many stories. This exhibit and show are supported by Intrepid Theatre’s Stages & Spaces and are a fundraiser supporting the Shade Burlesque Festival, returning in the Fall of 2027.

House of Cheek is creating bold events unlike any other in Victoria, BC. Since the launch of "Shade: a Night of colourful Burlesque" in 2019, House of Cheek has been actively working to uplift and celebrate the boundary pushers, the underrepresented, and the inspired. It is our goal to highlight performers of colour while creating thriving opportunities for our performers by creating spaces for BIPOC that inspire, celebrate, and hold space for dialogue.

Arrival at the Venue

The doors will open  30 minutes ahead of showtime. Masks are welcomed inside the theatre and available at the box office. Refunds: If you are not feeling well or have any symptoms, please stay home to help keep everyone safe. We are able to discuss refunds on a case by case basis due to health reasons before the performance. Please contact tickets@intrepidtheatre.com. We are unable to arrange refunds after a performance has occurred.
