Renfield or, Dining at the Bughouse

Loosely based on the insect-eating madman from “Dracula,” Renfield sits in his room at the asylum, awaiting his Master's arrival. Told at times from the point-of-view of the insects he has eaten, Renfield’s troubled past is revealed. Bizarre, poetic and moving. CW: Child abuse.

About the artist/company

Bill Zaget is a playwright, performance-poet and an actor (as Zag Dorison). His play "Rarebit Fiends" was one of the hits of a previous Edmonton Fringe. His solo show, "Renfield or, Dining at the Bughouse," based on his award-winning short story of the same name, was performed at the Montreal Fringe and in Los Angeles at a major Stoker centenary event. He was a regular contributor of short theatre pieces in the early years of the Rhubarb Festival of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto. After having lived there for many years, he moved to Montreal in 2015.
