Drag - OUTstages 2026

ColourVision

Born during the age of digital quarantine drag to keep the POC drag community alive, Noah Lott's passion project ColourVision has evolved into a highly anticipated annual multimedia theatre drag experience! The fight for visibility, inclusivity and equity is one not unfamiliar to BIPOC artists within performance spaces. ColourVision has not only filled the gaps by platforming performers of all ethnicities and styles in the spotlight but has caused a ripple effect throughout the scene. Today the Victoria Drag scene is blessed to have established POC icons of the community as well as new up and coming starlets sprouting year round. ColourVision is more than a show — it’s a revolution. What began as a hope for POC drag has transformed into a yearly beacon of flamboyant expression, melanated empowerment, and elevated artistry. Each year, the stage ignites with the voices of those long pushed to the margins — and this is just the beginning. Welcome to the future of drag. Welcome to ColourVision! About the Artists Your Host: Sylvester Stalletto has been packing a punch while flaunting his heavy hitting tricks, commanding stage presence, and Latinx roots! Gender-bending, boobless and bearded, this Trans Drag King has dominated the West Coast of Canada since 2022 as the powerhouse performer, charming host, hard working producer and underdog you'll always be rooting for. Some notable work of his includes: performing at Isle of Tease Burlesque Festival, featuring in 2 BBNO$ music videos “Boom” & “NSFW”, inheriting the 1st all BIPOC drag show ColourVision with Intrepid Theatre, taking lead as Shade Burlesque Festival’s Promotions & Marketing Coordinator & creating & producing the popular monthly drag, burlesque and pole dancing show Lust Lounge and Talent Tuesday at gay bar Friends of Dorothy. Sylvester's culture and decolonizing practices shared to him by his mentors has always informed him to advocate for marginalized audiences and performers along the way. New Models: Album Launch

What are the new models, new frameworks, new approaches? Who are the new models, new archetypes, new leaders? Join us for a meditative performance of Vivek Shraya’s 11th solo album NEW MODELS (Twin Fang Records) followed by a revisitation of her previous musical works. Part concert, part ritual, this work invites audiences to reflect on the shifting cultural landscape and uncertainties. Oh! I Miss the War

Two interwoven monologues. I Miss the War 1967. London, England. Sodomy decriminalized! Sort of. Jack, aging tailor to the chorus boys of the West End, watches the new generation celebrate, and laments that they will never know the outlaw happiness he knew as a youthful rentboy. He remembers meeting and having sex with God, manifest as an American GI, during the Blitz. Will the new generation be alive to that splendor, or are they are all falling into a trap – imitating Mum and Dad, wanting to marry and live together in little houses? Slipping in and out of camp, in and out of Polari, holding court hilariously, he re-affirms, for himself and for us all, the spiritual power of transient love and of outsider community. Oh! 2024. Toronto, Canada. Kink night! Sort of. Matt, a service bottom with failing knees, tries to find an erotic connection with puppies and a political connection with pronoun-careful Gen Zeds. Slipping out of full leather and into a cocktail dress, he remembers a sequence of personal re-awakenings – the erotic, political, and spiritual transformations of SM, AIDS, and the Radical Faeries. Returning to the ever-unfolding present, he celebrates the continuing project of queer world-building and erotic possibility. Together. Sex, pleasure, kink, shame. God. During the Blitz. During the Plague. And after. Recalling hankies and Polari, busbies and chaps, rent boys and faeries, tea rooms and back rooms, love and death, they each bring the past to the present and celebrate the future. A hundred year sliver of queer spirit, sex, and hope in less than an hour! Scratch Night

A night of brand-new experiments by local queer performers. Scratch Nights - staples in UK performance scenes - allow audience members to be embedded into how artists develop new works. Each performer is given 15 minutes of stage time with just two requirements:1) A performance. 2) A discussion with the audience. Hosted by Louie Lang Norman. Scratch artists to be announced! When Louie first started making new performance work in Victoria, he asked around: “Hey, where is the local scratch night? I’d love to get some audience feedback on an idea I’m playing with!” He received unanimously blank looks. Scratch nights are low pressure environments in which artists are encouraged to experiment, play, take risks, and try new material in front of an audience of fellow performers and performing arts lovers. Want to see the earliest stages of new local works in development? Want to support experimental work where failure is celebrated just as much as success? Scratch Night is for you! Four artists come prepared with a performance to share, and questions to ask the audience after. Audiences come prepared with a spirit of curiosity and a desire to be part of the creative process. Low tech, low pressure, highly generative. From emerging cabaret acts, to new script readings, to interdisciplinary experiments and beyond, a Scratch Night is a testing ground that supports artists in the creation of new work while valuing the importance of audience feedback as part of that process. Feedback is delivered by questions exchanged live between the artists and the audience, or can be sent anonymously afterwards via online form. About the Artists Louie Lang Norman (he/him) is a trans performance artist, drag queen and occasional independent scholar based on unceded Lekwugen Territory, Victoria BC. He was Intrepid Theatre’s OUTstages 2024 artist in residence, where he remounted his solo show A Car Crash, and in 2025 his drag persona - Ket Bush - co-created experimental drag-theatre show Mouthfull with collaborator Vivian Vanderpuss. He has been presenting work at performance festivals in the UK and Canada since 2015 (including SPILL International Festival of Performance, UK; Runnymede International Literary Festival, UK; DISKURS, Germany; INKONST, Sweden; OUTstages, Canada), and his most recently published academic work - on Fantheatre - can be found in Theatre Fandom: Engaged Audiences in the Twenty-First Century (University of Iowa Press, 2025). Waiting for the Sun

A one-act posthumanist play, Waiting for the Sun traces Ryan’s journey from growing up queer in the rural prairies to his early encounters with other men and eventual foray into sex work. Through interwoven reflections on intimacy, loneliness, grief, nature, communication, and renewal, the piece confronts the unspoken —the hard, taboo truths we often avoid— and asks what we are willing to risk or surrender in pursuit of transformation. Commissioned by Intrepid Theatre as part of their OUTstages artists-in-residence program and written at the Mother Tongue Publishing writers cottage, Waiting for the Sun is a one act play by && and performed by Tony Adams with visuals by Paul Robles. One night only! Run-time: 45 minutes, no intermission. A talk-back will follow the presentation. Credits Written by && Performed by Tony Adams Visuals by Paul Robles Accessibility Sensory warnings: Strobe/flashing lights, sudden loud noises Content warnings: Adult language, sexual content, themes of consent, drugs or alcohol use, depictions or mentions of violence (description of assault). About the Artist PLAYWRIGHTS && is the collaborative pseudonym of artists Dillon Lew’chuk (he/him) and Kegan McFadden (he/him). Inspired by queer artistic partnerships of the past who blurred lines of life and art, particularly the playful spirit of the Fluxus movement, && make drawing, bookworks, and printmaking through an experimental lens. Rooted in documenting their love affair, &&’s practice strips back to the essentials—materials, form, and process—while centering queer visibility and joy. && positions their work in response to a politically-regressive moment in which queer rights are under siege, and so the only response is to take up space, present images of love and rebellion, and document their time together in resistance to those who would have them erased. In 2025, they expanded into film and theatre, responding to the increasing erasure of queer existence. This shift embraces risk and experimentation, positioning live performance and cinema as intimate yet far-reaching forms of activism. CAST Tony Adams (they/them, he/him) is a theatre creator, facilitator, and performer. They are the Co-Artistic Director of May Can Theatre, with whom they created over 15 original pieces. Notable shows include Happiness™ (rEvolver Festival, Wildside Festival, Tactics Series), and Wolves > Boys (CBC top ten shows of 2014) and It’s About Our Goldfish (subDevision, Magnetic North Theatre Festival 2013). Tony has received awards for Outstanding Duo, and Outstanding Ensemble from the Ottawa Fringe Festival. In 2024, Tony premiered their solo show, tony wrestles a stranger, in Victoria and Vancouver, and more recently performed in SNAFU Society of Unexpected Spectacles’ New Earth Bandits 2 and Atomic Vaudeville’s DOPPELGÄNGER. ARTIST Born in the Philippines, Paul Robles (he/him) is based in Treaty One / Winnipeg. Recognized for his intricate cut paper works, Robles combines the delicacy associated with traditional handwork that addresses psychological and emotional states ranging from animist familiars, folklore, spirits, trauma, and grief. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from University of Manitoba School of Art and Bachelor of Arts degree (Sociology) from University of Winnipeg. Having exhibited widely in Canada, USA, and France, Robles was artist in residence at aabijijiwan New Media Lab/University Of Winnipeg (2024), and honored with the Provincial King Charles III – Gold medal by the Premier of Manitoba, Wab Kinew.

Witches in the Closet

In 1691, two young women, Lenora and Corinna are being prosecuted for witchcraft. This coming of age historical romance musical follows the girls after their life-altering event, as they keep secrets and battle with their own emotions of love and guilt. The musical explores the complexity of queer relationships and female friendships. This first iteration of the show will be presented as a staged reading. Development support provided by Intrepid Stages & Spaces. Credits Written by Kendra Bidwell Performed by Victoria Stolting & Emma Sainte Directed by Kendra Bidwell Accessibility Sensory warnings: There are no sensory warnings for this show Content warnings: Mentions of death About the Artist Kendra Bidwell (she/her) is a theatre artist and graduate from the Bachelor of Creative Arts program at Yorkville University and from Company C at the Canadian College of Performing Arts. She lives and breathes art (in a healthy way), from performing and directing, to producing and creating. In her time at Yorkville, she recollected how few theatrical roles there are for women (particularly in musicals), in an industry that is largely comprised of women.

Storytelling, Dramedy - OUTstages 2026

Though Witches in the Closet is set in a different era from our own, the prosecution of women shares parallels to today. Ultimately, Kendra believes we need more stories about women in the theatre space, and she is passionate about creating and telling those stories. Favourite past works include March Madness: An Exploration of Operatic Hysteria (A. Corpus), and Defending the Planet (Tamarack Theatre). Victoria Stolting (she/her), who was born in Germany, moved to the Comox Valley at the age of seven, where her passion for performing blossomed. She trained at the Canadian College of Performing Arts, the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts, On the Mic Voice Training, the Victoria Academy of Dramatic Arts, and more. Recent credits include playing Judy Haynes in White Christmas with VOS, Lionsgate Television’s Private Eyes West Coast, and Giovanni Starling and the Search for Mozart with Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre. Emma Sainte (she/her) is a musical theatre performer and pop singer-songwriter based in Victoria BC. Emma releases pop music on music streaming services; previous releases include several singles—most recently “POISON”—and an EP, my memory box. Emma has had a lifelong passion for the performing arts. In 2021, she graduated from the Canadian College of Performing Arts Diploma Program, where she studied singing, acting, and dance. She then completed her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Music Studies from Berklee College of Music in 2025, with a focus on songwriting. Emma always has numerous creative projects on the go. She plays the violin and autoharp, and enjoys creative writing and various forms of visual art. More information about Emma’s theatre and music pursuits can be found at www.emmasainte.com. Emma is thrilled to be portraying Corinna in Witches in the Closet!
